The big weekend is finally here! No, I do not mean the nation’s 250th birthday, though that’s also exciting. Of course, I am talking about another milestone national event, one that celebrates two of our country’s major exports: entertainment and sports. Yes, it’s the long-anticipated Taylor Swift–Travis Kelce wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Excuse me, the rumored wedding. Speculation has been high for months, but it appears that these two crazy kids will cap off their three-year love story by finally saying yes at the most famous venue for both of their chosen professions. The Garden—booked for two events on July 2 and 3—is buzzing with activity this week, and permits have been filed to close off the streets.
Now, it’s entirely possible this is all subterfuge—for all we know, they are already married (Rhode Island was bandied about) and this is just a giant party. But as the clock counts down to the big day, one thing we definitely know with 100% certainty is that this shindig is going to be expensive. Just how pricey are we talking? Read on.

How much are experts estimating this wedding could cost?
The eye-popping numbers range from a low of $10 million to well over $25 million, depending on who’s doing the speculating. Yes, that’s pricey, but it’s New York! And Taylor! When you start tallying the security and the entertainment and the cost of renting the massive venue itself, things can add up quickly.
How does this break down, exactly?

Venue: $8 million to $10 million
Rates for booking the Garden run anywhere from $1 million to $2 million per day, Today reports. But that’s just the baseline rent. You also have to factor in insurance, and the couple might have to buy out existing staging crews if they’re bringing in their own. And don’t forget lighting. There’s even the (rumored) construction of luxury bathrooms for the clientele’s celebrity tushies.
Security: $3 million to $6 million
Security for the event and all the celebs in attendance could top $1 million to $2 million per day, according to multiple sources. CNN reports that the couple want a “hermetically sealed environment” away from paparazzi, stalkers and other prying eyes, and you can bet that kind of security is not cheap.
Flowers: $1 million
Flowers are one of the most expensive parts of any wedding, and rest assured that these two won’t be reducing costs by making their own bouquets. (People reports that Kelce spent $38,000 transforming his backyard into a flower-filled garden for the proposal.) A wedding planner quoted by CNN says that while $500,000 is not unheard of for high-end weddings, Swift’s could easily hit the $1 million mark.
Food: $700,000 to $1 million-plus
There’s not as much hard info about this aspect of the Swift-Kelce nuptials, though Page Six snapped tons of pictures of food, including lobster, chicken, eggs and fresh produce, being delivered to Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. A source told NBC News that catering for a high-end wedding with a three-course meal costs about $600 per head, though this one will likely be much higher.
Entertainment: Possibly $2 million-plus
Someone has to get the dance floor hopping, and Rolling Stone reports that Swift’s idol and good friend Stevie Nicks will be at Madison Square Garden this weekend. Tim McGraw, the subject of Taylor’s first hit, is also rumored to be in attendance (and potentially performing?), as are Haim, Ed Sheeran and other musically inclined guests.
According to a celebrity booking agency, Stevie Nicks commands roughly $2 million per event. But since she and Swift are pals, it’s possible she’s just there for moral support—and perhaps a duet with the bride. In other words, this price tag is up in the air.
How does this compare to a normal wedding?
It’s just a smidge more. The average cost of a wedding in 2025 was $34,200, according to a survey by The Knot of more than 10,000 U.S. couples who got married last year. The biggest driver of the cost, whether you’re an international superstar or a regular person getting married in a church basement, is location, location, location—and New York City tops the list.
Is this the most expensive wedding ever?
No, but it’s definitely rubbing shoulders with some pricey unions. Here are the price tags for some other famous—and not-so-famous—nuptials. (Those two couples at the top of the list? Anant and Isha are siblings … and the children of the richest man in India.)
- Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant: $600 million
- Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal: $100 million
- Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez: $46 million to $55 million
- Prince Charles and Diana Spencer: $48 million
- George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin: $4.6 million
- Kim Kardashian and Kanye West: $2.8 million
