As a mom of four, I’m at Costco once a week, since it’s the best place to stock up on pantry staples and paper goods. It’s also great when I’m on my way home and need a quick dinner for my hungry family—you know it’s Costco’s $4.99 rotisserie chicken for the win: Every. Single. Time.
And thanks to the Costco food court’s famous $1.50 hot dog combo, it’s the only place I can grab a quick lunch for all my children for less than $10. If I need to get some shopping done at the same time, well, who could blame me?
But the last few times I’ve been to my local Costco, I’ve noticed some of my favorites missing from the warehouse giant’s frequently rearranged aisles. Not to be dramatic, but the losses have been sort of devastating. These are some of Costco’s most popular items! Ahead, I’ll take you through the list and tell you what Costco members are saying.
So, will these favorites come back? I remain hopeful. Remember when they yanked the beloved Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter? It’s back on the shelves! Keep reading to learn what you won’t see at Costco this year, and join us in crossing your fingers that Costco brings back these four staples.

What Costco items won’t be on shelves in 2026?
Costco has a lot of changes in store for 2026, including stand-alone gas stations and better pricing transparency on prescription meds, but we know what you’re most curious about: food and drinks!
Here are four things that you won’t be seeing at Costco this year.
Kirkland Signature Sport Drink

If you loved Costco’s cheaper alternative to Gatorade, I hope you stocked up when you had a chance. The 24-pack contained 20-ounce bottles in three different flavors. Each bottle was sweetened with cane sugar and other natural flavors—and was chock full of energy-boosting electrolytes.
“I got my first case this year and loved it,” said one Costco member on Reddit. “I am devastated.”
Other Redditors chimed in and said their local Costco employees confirmed that the product had been discontinued. But there’s a potential bright spot on the horizon: I personally checked the Costco website, and the beloved Kirkland Signature Sport Drink is listed as “out of stock.” That’s different than other items on this list that don’t show up at all.
And in early 2026, a new report emerged: “I did ask another worker recently, and she thinks they may be changing the size of the drink, and that’s why it’s not on the shelf currently,” the Redditor relayed. “I hope she’s right.”
We hope so too.
Kirkland Thin & Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Last year, Costco discontinued their Kirkland Signature Chocolate Chips due to the soaring price of cocoa, so it was probably only a matter of time before they came for the cookies too.
It’s happened, and honestly, this one hurts. Each $10 box contained 30 one-ounce packs of crunchy cookies made with simple, clean ingredients in a nut-free bakery. They became a staple in my daughter’s lunchbox, so when I started noticing spotty inventory last year, I was on high alert. I haven’t seen them in months, though other warehouses may have had inventory in stock longer—or sold out much earlier.
“I love these!” said one Redditor. “My Costco stopped selling them right after I tried them.”
But as with the Kirkland Signature Sport Drink, I’m holding out hope: As of January 2026, the product is still sold in Canada, and one fan on Facebook shared intel that Costco plans to bring the cookies back when cocoa prices stabilize. (Costco famously doesn’t comment on these decisions, so take the news with a grain of … sugar?)
In the meantime, my local Costco has cases of Famous Amos chocolate chip cookies, but they’re just not the same. For a closer match, try Trader Joe’s individual packages of mini chocolate chip cookies. Each package is loaded with deliciously crispy cookies and costs just 99 cents.
Kirkland Signature Ground Sirloin and Loin of Beef Patties

I always have a package of Costco’s frozen beef patties in my freezer during the spring and summer. What could be better than something quick and easy (and delicious!) that I can throw on the grill? Better yet, all four of my children will eat Costco’s ground beef without complaint.
So I was miffed to learn that our favorite, Kirkland Signature Ground Sirloin and Loin of Beef Patties, would be missing from my local Costco in 2026. The patties came in a pack of 18 one-third-pound patties, and the beef was 85% lean and 15% fat—ideal for people looking for a leaner burger.
While we can’t be certain if these patties were phased out because of rising beef prices or shifts in consumer preferences, the good news is that Costco freezers are still stocked with other convenient frozen beef patties. If you don’t mind the higher fat content, Costco currently sells an 18-count package of Kirkland Signature Ground Beef Patties and a 15-count package of Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Beef Patties. Both are one-third-pound patties that are 80% lean and 20% fat.
Pepsi

Pepsi fans, we have bad news. In 2026, you will no longer be able to fill up a crisp fountain Pepsi at the food court. After 13 years, Costco officially switched back to Coca-Cola products. The changeover, which was announced at a Costco shareholders meeting last year, was wrapping up in early 2026, according to media reports.
Shoppers have been sharing photos on social media as their local Costcos make the swap, to decidedly mixed reviews. (Those Coke vs. Pepsi fights are real, y’all.) It looks like shoppers will now enjoy Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Powerade and Minute Maid lemonade. Some locations even have Barqs Root Beer and Coke Zero. But the real question is, how will this change affect the famous $1.50 hot dog combo? Turns out, not at all. Costco’s bargain lunch combo is here to stay.
Could these items make a comeback?
Anything is possible, but bear in mind that there is a long list of things Costco doesn’t sell anymore. That said, Costco has removed items and brought them back before—the Kirkland Signature Peanut Butter is a prime example. On the other hand, we’re afraid there’s little hope for at least one item on our list: Considering the magnitude of a worldwide Pepsi-to-Coke switch, we’re unlikely to see Pepsi return to Costco food courts any time soon.
