Human-Sized Dog Beds are Real and They’re a Surprisingly Great Way to Snuggle Your Pup

Ever stop to look at your pup and just think, if only I could have your life? Because let’s be real, they do indeed have the life. Alternating between playing with their favorite dog toys and snoozing the day away on one of their comfy dog beds while you cater to their every need isn’t too shabby. If you’ve ever wished that you could just curl up on that cushy bed right next to your pup, then you’re in luck. Thanks to two college students who understand the struggle of finding a cozy spot to nap, human dog beds were born.

What Is a Human Dog Bed?

It’s exactly what it sounds like! Plufl human dog beds are made with four-inch thick memory and orthopedic foam mattress. They include a plush pillow border made with a cushy blend of natural cotton and poly fibers and are big enough for two adults (or just you and your dog) to have the best nap ever.

This bed, which is covered in luxe faux fur, measures 68-inches by 38-inches and weighs around 20 pounds.

But don’t let the size fool you. In spite of its generous dimensions, Plufl human dog beds are easily portable thanks to their built-in handles and foldable design.

Where Can You Buy a Human Dog Bed?

Can’t wait to get your paws on a human dog bed? We can’t either. Unfortunately, Plufl human dog beds are only available for pre-order at the moment and aren’t expected to arrive until January 2023.

On the bright side, these beds, which will retail at $499, are currently on sale for $399 in honor of the brand’s upcoming appearance on Shark Tank. You can pre-order yours today through Plufl’s Kickstarter page.

Beware of any human dog beds listed on any third-party retail websites; the brand cautions that these are most likely a scam or a knockoff and cannot guarantee quality or delivery.

Does a Human Dog Bed Get Hairy?

If what your dog really wants is to snuggle up next to you, odds are you’ll end up with some of Fido’s hair on your new Plufl. For quick and easy hair removal, you can go over it each night with one of these best vacuums for pet hair.

Plus, if these human dog beds start to get smelly or if an accident happens, the faux fur cover is both anti-microbial and machine washable for easy cleaning.

Once you’ve washed it, you can hang the cover to dry or toss it in the dryer on a low-tumble setting. Then all you have to do is put the cover back on and you’re ready to relax. Happy napping!

Will Cicadas Destroy Your Garden? 10 Things You Need to Know

It’s easy to wince thinking about the mass emergence of insects like cicadas. Their numbers can reach millions per acre, creating a near-deafening buzzing chorus. So it’s understandable that questions like, “Will cicadas eat my plants?” immediately spring to mind. But cicadas are also pretty fascinating and play important roles in the ecosystem. “Cicadas inspire wonder in our world!” says Jennifer Hopwood, senior pollinator conservation specialist at the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. “They spend most of their life underground next to the same plant roots. Somehow, these creatures are able to track the years that pass by and time their emergence with other periodical cicadas in the region to overwhelm predators. They are amazing little critters.” Here’s a rundown of what to know about cicadas, good and bad, including whether or not they eat plants and how to protect your trees during an emergence.
