A Swiftie’s Guide to New Orleans: 12 Things to See and Do

Considering it’s still the hottest ticket of 2024, it’s almost hard to believe that Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour started way back on March 17, 2023. Like all good things, this too must come to an end. (Fun fact: It’s the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, the first ever to gross at least $1 billion.) But before her finale in Vancouver later this year, Swift is doing three shows in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome from Oct. 25 to 27.

Whether or not you hold a golden concert ticket hardly matters, as fans are flocking to NOLA to get in on the fun. If you’re headed that way, these are some of Taylor’s favorite venues, where you just might catch her hanging out when not on stage. And the town is literally brimming with Swiftie-related brunches and happenings you won’t want to miss. As an added bonus, fall just so happens to be one of the best times to visit New Orleans, so you’re likely to have great weather.

Live like Taylor Swift in NOLA

While celebrating her 33rd birthday in New Orleans in December 2022, Swift enjoyed the following live music venues, restaurants and baked goodswho’s to say she won’t stop by again this time around?

  • On Dec. 10, 2022, Swift attended a show at the legendary Preservation Hall. This intimate French Quarter music venue, which holds only 100 patrons, is known for hosting musical legends and traditional jazz.
  • On Dec. 13, 2022 (her actual birthday), she recorded at Esplanade Studios. As Swift said in her Instagram post, she “wouldn’t have it any other way.”

  • Craving classic French cuisine with a Japanese twist? Swift did during that December trip. Located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, N7 dishes up sake-cured salmon tartine, frog legs karaage and a Hokkaido-style fried-chicken sandwich.
  • Located on Magazine Street in Uptown New Orleans, Saba serves modern Israeli cuisine. Stop in for the fresh-baked and wood-fired pita bread, shakshuka, spicy lamb ragu hummus, Moroccan carrots and harissa-roasted chicken.
  • Looking for a decadent dessert while on vacation? Bywater Bakery made Swift’s birthday cake on that same trip and named the sparkly purple treat Lavender Haze as an homage to a track found on Swift’s Midnights album, which released earlier that year. Per the bakery’s Instagram post, the top tier featured banana mascarpone cream with vanilla butter cake, and the bottom tier was chai chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and caramel. Yum!

Swiftie happenings during the NOLA Eras Tour

Throughout the weekend of Oct. 25, New Orleans will celebrate Taylor Swift’s arrival with a variety of themed brunches, events and more. Here’s where you want to see and be seen:

  • Nol Special Events‘s Totally Taylor Drag Brunch features performances, a dance-off contest and Taylor-inspired cocktails.
  • Shake It Off: The Ultimate Swiftie Experience at New Orleans Social House will offer a chef-crafted Taylor-inspired menu, glitter bar and friendship-bracelet-making station.
  • Swiftie’s Eras Drag and Burlesque Brunchesat the Commons Club will have specialty Taylor-inspired cocktails, and you can sing along with fun performances.
  • Themed cocktails will be available citywide, including Cane & Table’s Seemingly Ranch Water and My Mind Is Alive, Saba’s Lavender Haze and New Orleans Creole Cookery’s Mean Margarita and ERAS-Presso Martini.
  • Hyatt Centric French Quarter will be offering 11 themed cocktails corresponding with each Taylor Swift Era, including the Bad Bloody Mary and Sweet Nothing.
  • St. James Cheese Company is offering Shimmer: A Swiftie Platter with cheese, fruit, sprinkles and candy bracelets perfect for pre-concert snacking.
  • Ayu Bakehouse’s Look What You Made Me Dough Menu will include items like a gown shaped like a pastry and the King of My Heart raspberry white chocolate latte, as well as a Hot Mallows (Taylor’s Version) menu that includes London Fog, Red Velvet and Burnt Toast.
